The World Youth Festival Assembly has officially begun in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, bringing together over 2,000 young leaders from around the globe, including 120 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and North America. The event is part of the federal project "Russia in the World" under the national project "Youth and Children," launched by Russian

President Vladimir Putin.


Greetings from the President:

President Putin sent a greeting to the guests and participants, emphasizing the importance of international youth cooperation. He noted that the World Youth Festival held at Sirius in 2024 was a success and that Russia is committed to continuing this dialogue. The President highlighted the establishment of International Friendship Clubs, summer schools, and large-scale festival events like the current Assembly, which will be held annually in Russia ¹.


Key Highlights- Thematic Tracks: Participants are developing in one of seven areas: media, creative industries, public administration, entrepreneurship, sports, education and science, digitalization, and IT.


Notable projects presented during the pitching session include:


    - Thematic Summer Schools: Focusing on subject areas and international cooperation.


    - Thematic Blog Tours: Promoting a non-biased image of Russia abroad and preserving historical memory.

    - Restoration of Monuments: Preserving historical memory by restoring monuments to Soviet soldiers in Europe.


    - Families of Russia: A program for foreigners to experience Russian culture and values by living with Russian families.


There are 450 volunteers from 54 regions of Russia are supporting the event, ensuring smooth logistics, guest services, and information services .


 Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia in his remarks said "You speak different languages, but you are united by one thing – the desire for friendship and excellence. We will succeed!" he concluded.


Grigory Gurov, Head of Rosmolodezh is also quoted as saying "We are continuing the legacy of the World Youth Festival... By 2030, we plan to bring together about 40,000 participants ; foreign citizens and Russians  at our international events."


 Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region,  Gleb Nikitin , with reference to the location  of the event then said  "Nizhny Novgorod consistently attracts the most talented, ambitious, and driven young people... We are ready to show '100% Real Russia' for the Assembly’s guests."

 

The World Youth Festival Directorate continues its work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation.


 Future events will include ;International Youth Festival in Krasnoyarsk: 10,000 participants expected in 2026,  World Youth Festival: 20,000 participants expected in 2030 and Annual Themed Assemblies.


 2,000 participants expected each year, focusing on different themes and areas of international cooperation.
