Global Leaders Converge in Lusaka to Redefine Innovation-Led Development

Lusaka, Zambia - The 2025 International Multi-Disciplinary Conference (IMDC 2025) has concluded with a resounding call for Africa to take charge of its innovation-led development. The three-day summit, hosted by the Zambia Research and Development Centre (ZRDC), brought together thought leaders, researchers, policymakers, and industry pioneers from across Africa, Russia, and beyond.

The conference theme, "Fostering Knowledge Sharing and Innovation Competitiveness for Production-Enabled Development," emphasized the need for nations to transition from consuming imported technology to creating their own. Dr. Inga Koryagina, Conference Convener, stressed the importance of upgrading Africa's "Human Operating System" to drive strategic survival and progress.

Prof. Richard Silumbe, ZRDC Board Chairman, declared that Africa has risen and is now defining its own trajectory. He championed inclusive platforms like IMDC for unlocking the continent's collective potential.

The conference featured plenary sessions on politics, economics, entrepreneurship, and technology, highlighting the need for smart governance, innovation, and technological adoption. Parallel sessions showcased research in various fields, including business, computer science, agriculture, engineering, and social sciences.

Dr. Chisala C. Bwalya, ZRDC Director, hailed the event a success, citing the depth of engagement and partnerships forged. IMDC 2025 has solidified its role as a cornerstone institution for South-South and Russia-Africa partnerships, driving an equitable, sovereign, and innovative future.
