Strengthening Unity: The Future of the Commonwealth of Independent States

The World Public Assembly's panel session, "The Commonwealth of Independent States: Conscious Unity," brought together experts, diplomats, and public figures from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan to discuss the future of the CIS. The session highlighted the importance of rethinking the value of the Commonwealth in a new historical context and ensuring compliance with international standards

The CIS has played a crucial role in the civilized and peaceful "divorce" of the 15 former Soviet republics.

Culture is a vital area of interaction between CIS countries, with the Russian language serving as a bridge to identity.

In the context of global changes and growing challenges, conscious unity becomes particularly important as a political and humanitarian category and practical guideline.

Experts proposed creating a symbolic CIS Youth Belt, a platform uniting youth organizations and activists from Commonwealth countries to strengthen ties, develop leadership, and form a common humanitarian space.

Support for initiatives in education, culture, youth policy, creative industries, and protection of cultural heritage.

Creation of joint media projects and platforms to promote a positive image of the region and counter disinformation.

The participants outlined a resolution with practical steps, including:Developing joint educational programs and cultural initiatives, Maintaining systematic interaction with young people to form a conscious generation focused on creation, cooperation, and preservation of peace and Strengthening information sovereignty and promoting a positive image of the region.

The World Public Assembly's initiative aims to promote cultural values, folk crafts, cinema, music, and theater projects, and create joint humanitarian and educational initiatives among CIS countries.
