In a world where differences often seem insurmountable, culture can be a powerful tool for building bridges and fostering trust. This was the central theme of the panel session "Culture as the Basis of Trust on the Path to a Harmonious World" at the First World Public Assembly.
Breaking Down Barriers
Experts from around the world shared their insights on how culture can bring people together, even in the face of adversity. "Culture is a living language of trust that can bring people together even where diplomacy faces barriers," said Juan Miguel Diaz Ferrer, a professor from Venezuela.
The Power of Cultural Exchange
The panelists emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in building trust and understanding. "Mutual cultural exchanges are not just concerts or exhibitions. This is an opportunity to feel the breath of another nation, to share its pain and joy," said Roberto D'Agostino, an Italian diplomat and Honorary Consul.
From Differences to Synergy
The experts discussed how to move from differences to synergy and mutual enrichment. Debing Liu, Director of the Advisory Board of the Center for International Business Ethics, emphasized the importance of the Belt and Road initiative in promoting cultural exchange and understanding.
The Universality of Art
The panelists also highlighted the universality of art and its ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers. "A person who knows the way of culture is irreplaceable and invincible," said Anastasia Pavlova, a Russian public figure and writer.
A Common Language
The panel session concluded that culture is a common language that can transcend political differences. "We have shown the world that we have a common language that transcends political differences. It is the language of art, beauty, memory, and friendship," said Alena Dolgopolova, State Secretary of the World Peoples Assembly.
As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, culture can play a vital role in building trust and fostering global understanding. By embracing our differences and celebrating our shared humanity, we can create a more harmonious and peaceful world.
